Welcome to Heritage Village
Heritage Village is recognized as one of the most beautiful parks in Florida and probably the one that is best managed and organized. Over 90% of owners are French Canadians from mainly Quebec and Ontario. Other owners are American.
The Park is well laid out, properties are well maintained; in addition, landscaping lets us admire over 1,500 palm trees. It includes mobile homes, pre-fabricated houses and a section for recreational vehicles.
At Heritage Village, you own your land and your home. This is an advantage because it makes the park almost unique.
Each of the 247 lots has a minimum area of 5000 sq ft. The Park’s streets are all paved (about 2 miles). There are also two small lakes with illuminated fountains. Each lot has its own water and electricity meters, and property taxes vary between $400 and $1,350 per year. The maintenance costs of common areas are among the lowest in the state for this type of park.
Heritage Village is much more than just mobile homes and recreational vehicles; it is a safe way to live a retirement in the sun without any worries, surrounded by friends whose only interest is to spend happy days. Everything is organized; everyone participates in its own way. The friendliness of the residents and the general atmosphere make this community a very pleasant place to spend the winter.
Heritage Village is located in Okeechobee on Highway 441 South, 0.68 miles north of Lake Okeechobee. Lake Okeechobee, the largest lake in Florida, is surrounded by a beautiful bike path that is paved over 65 miles. Several beaches along the Atlantic coast are about 40 miles from the park.
Heritage Village is near downtown Okeechobee. The City offers many amenities such as: grocery stores (Winn Dixie and Publix to name a few), Super Wal Mart, banks, Home Depot and two flea markets. Many restaurants are also located nearby.
Our Social Calendar is filled with an array of activities to absorb and inspire you. You can even exercise your creative muscles.
The community center is the pride of all residents of Heritage Village. The activities include line-dancing, exercise classes, crafts, painting, library, bingo, and cards (Military Whist, Cribbage, Bridge). Free classes are also offered in: Computer Training, English as a second language, Painting and Sculpture. Outside, the main attractions are the Swimming pool, seven Petanque courts and eight Shuffleboard courts.
In addition, the community center is equipped with a large kitchen with equipment and facilities that would be the envy of many restaurateurs. The kitchen is partly used for the preparation of community dinners. Meals are prepared for over 350 residents who come to celebrate various holidays such as Christmas, New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, the Anniversary Gala and other events.
Canadians enjoy watching their favourite TV channels. To provide this service, each lot is connected to a cable at no additional charge. The networks that are available include: CBC, CTV, Global, RDI, CBC, CTV. Some residents subscribe, at their expense, to private providers allowing them an unlimited choice.
Heritage Village, a passionate choice and profitable investment!
